Day 3 — Alpine Lake Picnic

Climb gently to a glassy tarn for a chef-packed picnic and an afternoon of swimming or sketching.

Dawn start with a spotter guide — elk, marmots and, with luck, moose — then a free afternoon at the lodge.

The big-view day along an airy but safe ridgeline, finishing with a sunset walk and lodge dinner.

Day 6 — Farewell

Sleep in, share addresses over breakfast, and depart by midday.

Questions, Answered

How high do we hike?

Trails top out around 11,500 feet. We ascend gradually, drink plenty of water, and build an acclimatization day into the start.

What wildlife will we see?

Elk and mule deer are near-guaranteed; marmots, pikas and raptors are common. Moose and black bears are possible at safe distances.

Is gear provided?

Trekking poles, daypacks and binoculars are included. Bring broken-in boots and layers — the full list comes with your confirmation.
